As the family history goes: The Yeoman, or Eauman before it was anglicized, came to England in 1066 with William the Conquorer who was the Duke of Normandy. They were his Longbow men. They became landowners and farmers and served in the Royal Guard. Yeomen who went further are mostly in North America and Austrailia today.
